Meet Sydney & Davis, a travel couple who authors the blog, The Escape Artists. They share travel guides, experiences and tips that serve as useful information and inspiration for their audience. The couple has also created and made available beautiful photo presets. Read on to find out more about their work and journey!
What did you both do in university?
Davis studied Opera Performance and Sydney studied Chemical Engineering.
What are the things that matter to both of you the most?
Continuing to cultivate our relationship with each other. Traveling, health & wellness, spreading light & positivity and always leaving space for uninhibited creativity.
What does a typical day in both your week look like?
When on the road, our days are determined by sunlight. We try wake up before sunrise and get out to shoot with soft morning light. During the day, we try to shoot multiple destinations. Our mode of travel varies daily from walking, motorbiking, hiking, boating, driving, and cycling. After sundown, we edit and catch up on emails, then plan out our locations for the next day.
When at home, we are updating our website, catching up on emails, planning our next trip, editing all of our photos and videos, going on short evening walks, and writing music.
Are there key people or books that have moulded both of you?
Tell us something we don’t know about the creator’s work?
Creativity is not reserved only for those with unlimited time and resources. A lot of artists create as a side hustle to their otherwise “normal” life. Even if it’s for only 10 minutes a day, anyone can create.
What is your favorite Destination and why?
The islands of Komodo National Park in Indonesia. To start, just getting there is an adventure with the multiple flights, car and boat transfers. And when we visited, we stayed on an overnight boat in the park. The deep blue water and enormous mountains with perfect white sand beaches are spectacular. From real life dragons to giant manta rays, the wildlife diversity was amazing to experience firsthand.
Where do you see yourself in the future?
Living abroad at some point, maybe somewhere along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea or on an island in Indonesia.
We hope you enjoyed it and we thank Davis & Sydney for this interesting interview.
