Meet Swedish travel couple Emy and Johan who authors the blog With Salty Passports. They started their journey in 2018 and have been sharing the adventures. The couple is passionate about travelling and photography and hopes to inspire their audience to chase their dreams. Read on to find out more about incredible work and life!

What did you both do in university?
Emy studied media production in Sweden, and Johan never went to university. Instead, he started up a few businesses after seven years as a sales manager.
What are the things that matter to both of you the most?
We both love travelling the world, meeting new people and see other cultures. We both went a lot before we met and now we have been travelling full time for two years together. We also love animals and started eating a plant-based diet both for the animals and for health reasons. Here in the Philippines, we are feeding the street dogs and thinking of a more longterm project that involves animal welfare.

What does a typical day in both your week look like?
On the road, every day looks different. We have some days that we need to find a place to work all day, usually at a cafe. We are both working remotely, so all days are not filled with adventures. Some days start at sunrise trying to find cool places to explore, taking pictures and enjoy life. Right now we are stuck in quarantine because of COVID-19 are trying to establish routines like meditation, yoga, exercise and working on new exciting projects.
Are there key people or books that have moulded both of you?
There are two authors that we consume anything they publish are Tim Ferris & Derek Sivers. Ellie Bullen has also inspired us. When we started our plant-based diet, her first cookbook helped us cook excellent and nutritious food.

Tell us something we don’t know about the creator’s work?
It takes so much time, and I don’t think anyone realises how much time we are putting into this. Instagram is not just so snap a picture, upload it and then you are done. We are planning and scouting locations, outfits, engaging for hours a day, posting at the right time, edit the photos, matching the feed, taking stories, writing blog posts and so on. But we enjoy it and don’t see all this as work. To everyone that wants to do the same thing, don’t forget to enjoy what you do!

What is your favourite destination and why?
Right now we have to say Australia. We just left Australia after two years living in a campervan/4WD. It’s such a big country and offers a lot of different things: beautiful deserted beaches, and the bluest water we have ever seen. There are plenty of incredible national parks, friendly people and cool animals (I don’t refer to the crocodiles). Living in a car took the freedom to a whole new level, and we already want to go back.
We hope you enjoyed it and we thank Emy & Johan for this interesting interview.
