Wirda Elliesa is a beauty influencer and business owner of luxetress, selling clip-on hair extensions that are great quality & affordable. She is young, ambitious and go-getter chic, and we connected to do an interview and here is what she shared.
What did you do in university?
I studided Fashion design and merchandising at First media design school.
What are the things that matter to you the most?
Things that matter to be the most right now is my Mom and my business.
What does a typical day in your week look like?
I am juggling 3 careers at once. I am working full time as a business development executive for TAQWA, I have a side business; Luxetress hair extensions (@luxetress) and I am also doing influencer work like creating content and working with brands up on my instagram.
My day starts at 7am every morning, go to work from 9-5pm. After office hours is always my time for my business + creating content for my clients. Which will end around 11pm everyday. Sometimes if I am lucky, I can rest after office hours so I can make time for myself like shopping, watching netflix etc. haha so that’s my weekday routine. My weekends I usually try to make it free to spend time with my loved ones but maybe spend 1-2 hours for Luxetress ;P
Are there key people or books that have moulded you?
My mom is my role model. I have never met anyone as hard-working as her. She raised me single-handedly and would do anything to give me the best life while growing up. She taught me to be independent and not to depend on anyone because, at the end of the day, we only have ourself to depend on.
Tell us something we don’t know about the influencers work?
Being an influencer isn’t glamourous like how we portrayed it. It may look fun all the time because we get gifts, pr packages and attend all the events, but it is stressful and tiring. It is like a real job, and I respect those doing influencer as a full-time job. You tend to get all sorts of attention on social media. Mostly we get hate DMs or comments, and if we are not mentally strong, it could go wrong. Social media is a powerful platform if you use it wisely. Use social media to start a business, find inspiration, connect with your friends and family and don’t use it with a contrary intention like cyberbullying someone. I respect all these influencers for using social media as a platform to spread positivity and creativity.
Where do you yourself in the future?
I see myself as a full-time entrepreneur. Running my business and giving girls salary 😉 haha. I see myself having an office in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. That’s what I want in life, and I am going to achieve it.
We hope you enjoyed it and we thank Wirda Elliesa for this interesting interview.
